World Skydiving Day 2025

On Saturday 12 July 2025, skydivers from all around the world took to the skies to celebrate the second ever World Skydiving Day, celebrating our incredible sport and community.

After a hugely successful inaugural World Skydiving Day last year, the anticipation and excitement in the build up to this year’s World Skydiving Day was electric!

Australia and New Zealand kicked things off, followed by Europe and the rest of the world, with the United States and Canada rounding things off.

We had events on all around the country, with Wicked Weekend at Skydive Elderslie, Hillman Farm’s 50 Year Anniversary, BellyBash Formation Loads at Skydive Ramblers, mini festivals at Skydive Great Ocean Road, Commando Skydivers and Lower Light, Star Crests at Byron Bay, and Star Crests and Night Jumps at Far North Freefall - just to name a few!

Our community came together and jumped our socks off, and despite some bad weather in WA and aircraft issues at a handful of drop zones, stoke levels remained sky-high throughout the day and into the night! Far North Freefall continued jumping under the moonlight and jumpers at Commando Skydivers even got scrubbed up for their World Skydiving Day Winter Ball after ops!

Now, the part you've all been waiting for...

Along with the United States Parachute Association, British Skydiving and Canadian Sport Parachuting Association, the Australian Parachute Federation is proud to announce that 26,718 skydives were completed and officially reported for World Skydiving Day 2025!

Although we didn’t break the current record of 30,351 skydives, we were blown away by the turnout, participation and hype that made this day truly special - on a global scale! Skydivers took to the skies in Angola, Australia, Canada, Colombia, Croatia, Ecuador, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Guatemala, India, Israel, Kenya, Luxembourg, Mexico, Namibia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Romania, Serbia and the United States.

Australia contributed 2,594 jumps towards the final tally, introducing 715 tandem students to our incredible sport, getting public exposure through various media outlets, raising awareness and spreading the stoke for skydiving throughout our community and beyond!

Even in a world currently facing many challenges, World Skydiving Day was a bright reminder of what brings us together. From every corner of the globe, people joined in celebration of our shared love for skydiving and the vibrant, welcoming community that surrounds it. The unity and joy we saw on this day is exactly what makes our sport so special
Albert Berchtold, USPA Executive Director

Thank you to every single one of you who helped to bring this vision to life and make the second World Skydiving Day the incredible day it was. The skydiving community once again came together to prove that we are a bold, passionate and connected community - no matter the distance.

Looking forward to next year, let’s come back stronger, together, and take another shot at the record.

Join World Skydiving Day again on 11 July 2026!
