What is Accelerated Freefall? (AFF)

So you want to become a skydiver and you want to become one now.

Then, the Accelerated Freefall (AFF) program is the most exciting way you can quickly “Get into Skydiving”.

“Accelerated” refers to the training table and will get you to your first certificate (A), in the most exhilarating way possible! Yes, AFF will have you freefalling from your very first jump. Your first skydive could be from anywhere between 10 and 15,000 feet, reaching speeds of up to 200 km’s per hour.

Jumping out of the plane for the first time, you have two Instructors (jumpmasters), holding on to you from the moment you all leave the aircraft together until opening. Their job is to assist you to fall stable, perform practice parachute deployment and monitor your altitude, then – you actually get to deploy your own parachute and fly your canopy to the ground where a Canopy Control Assistant will help to guide you.

Or, if you wanted the thrill of skydiving from your very first jump and, you are determined to get your first rating (Certificate A), but, think a tandem may be the best way to start, then you might consider a Tandem Assisted Freefall (TAF). Doing a TAF as your first skydive is a step towards the AFF program and by the time you finish your TAF and AFF training table, you will be a trained novice skydiver.

From now on, the sky really is the limit! Find a training Drop Zone here
